John One Of Three Artists at First Lady's Online Student Workshop
Due to the impending snow storm in the D.C. area the White House moved Wednesday's events up to Tuesday, including both the concert and student workshop. The event will air on PBS as scheduled for Thursday but the White House live coverage will now be on Tuesday and it's very likely John will not be at the student workshop due to performance rehearsal.
Mrs. Obama will host a “Music that Inspired the Movement” workshop for 120 high school students from across the country on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. ET. John, Smokey Robinson and John Legend will be there to relate personal stories about the music and sing the songs they’ll perform later that night in an “unplugged” context. The artists’ presence and participation will demonstrate the continuing relevance of music from the Civil Rights Movement to today’s generation--and its original impact in the 1960s.
