John introduces Special Guest Pete Seeger - "If I Had A Hammer"


After Pete did a Mellencamp favorite, "If I Had A Hammer" with loud backing from the crowd, Pete then invited the four Farm Aid Board members to the stage to join him in singing "This Land Is Your Land." Pete, still an active protest singer, sang his own original verse in This Land about the practice of fracking. In recent years John has participated in tribute events to both Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie performing both of those iconic songs.
