John is being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in New York City on Monday, March 10th, 2008. The New York induction is an industry oriented black tie event held at the Waldorf Astoria. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum has a live simulcast viewing party from inside the Rock Hall in Cleveland open to the public!
Mellencamp.com and ClubCherryBomb.net are working with the Rock Hall to coordinate Mellencamp fans to attend the simulcast in Cleveland. The Rock Hall has a huge concert room with a gigantic screen to watch the ceremony LIVE via satellite from NYC, with an expected crowd of approximately 500-1000 people. Additionally, the ceremony will be on all of the TV's in the Rock Hall so you can check out the whole museum while watching the induction. It will be a really cool way to watch the induction, which typically lasts three to four hours.
The Rock Hall has a special price of $5 a person or a great deluxe package for $30 a person that includes a yearlong membership to the museum, a commemorative poster and t-shirt, and more!
We have information we can email you about how to buy tickets or the special packages. Additionally, we have secured an extra low price at a local hotel for Mellenheads which should include shuttle transportation to the Rock Hall.
